I've got 2 problems here.

1. When I put in a cd or dvd, it registers the name perfectly if I go into my computer. THe problem is, if I take it out and replace it with another disc, the name of the previous disc remains. Even after many refreshes it does the same. If I go into properties for the drive, it still says the previous disc's name, what's the deal?

2. I can still right click and do properties on a regular file like a movie, word doc, text file, etc just fine. If I do it on a folder, any folder, it just sits there and hangs, no hd activity period. This happens for files on my hd or on a cd/dvd. It started a few days ago out of nowhere

What in the world could be causing this, this is really annoying

It's all good ^_^

For #1, what OS are you running? 98? 98SE? XP? etc.. I get the same problem too sometimes with my 98SE. Sometimes two CD drives show up, among other things. I ignore them all, as long as I'm able to view the contents without problem. Problem happening long, or recently?

For #2, try finding this file on all your drives, "folder.htt" (no quotes). Make sure you're albe to see hidden & system files as well.

If the search show files that are bigger than 15KB-20KB, try opening them with notepad. Scroll towards the very bottom & see if there's any funky looking characters around there. Report back with your findings.

1. My bad, thought I mentioned my os: running XP Pro. It hasn't been happening long, I'd say since Christmas or so. It's an annoyance more than anything, not a serious ploblem.

2. Only found one "folder.htt" It was 28k, and I opened up in notepad to see nothign more than some fancy html code

It's all good ^_^
