Cd dvd not detected

Hello,
trying to burn a cd but drive is not detected. Using a memorex external cd/dvd recorder because my internal driver is damaged. I have had this external drive for over two years and it has worked without any problems. Now, all of a sudden it does not detect any videos or cd's. It would not even detect the installation CD. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling using the Device Manager. Still nothing. I checked all the connections. Everything checks out. Don't know what else to do.

first, try to figure out where is the problem , the PC or the recorder, just take the memorex external cd/dvd recorder to work on another PC , and see what happens then....

maybe just some setting peoblems or the compatibility trouble... good luck ...

First, follow this guide to delete the upper and lower filters.
