CD Player problems

I can't use cd for playing or ripping on an Acer Aspire PC, checked with Acer support but when I tried the fix they suggested all I got was error 2908 which may be a memory card problem?

Have you put anything new on your pc lately? Maybe it's a PSU issue. If not, it could simply be a driver issue. Try updating your cd-rom driver. If that doesn't fix it, let me know. It could be the cd-rom it's on the brink of eternal sleep.
