Actually, if you've downloaded the Nero update for XP and everything works, XP will write files to the CD writer.
You have to use the Integrated file wizard which will allow you to cut and paste files onto the CD through explorer. Then clicking, "Write these files to CD" in the left toolbar of CD-Writers' explorer window.
The easiest way to test all of this is to simply insert a blank CD in the drive. You should then be prompted by a window that will ask if you want to manage the disk through XP or simply abort that process and use another piece of software like Nero.
As a heads up, I really love CLONECD 3. I have been using it for about 3 weeks in demo mode and just gave them my credit card to actually license the software. It copies a CD in about half the time it takes NERO. I found it online at: http://www.elby.org/english/corp/index.htm.
The demo mode works just like the purchased software, only it won't die on you after 30 days so feel free to download it and give it a shot. If you get the demo copy and then want to buy it, the process was simple and straight forward, simply enter the registration number they give you via email after making the purchase and you're all set. Anyone else that is using this software should throw in their two cents too. I thought the price was reasonable given how much time I save.
