Change out of HTML format to regular.

Hi,
After system restore articles and chapters I have downloaded are not in
readable form. How can I change them? Do I have to delete all of them and
download again>? It is 6:04pm Saturday and will look for answers around
9:00 pm. Have a meeting to go to.

Are these HTML documents? What is the file extension? What program opens
when you double click them?
