So today I purchased the 500d from Corsair and was swapping it from my 570x. I only replaced the radiator fans and took the fans from the old case. I hooked everything up and left a few wires hanging but just went to go see if it would boot. Which I was sure it would, the building process felt fine. When I plugged in the psu to the wall I noticed there was no led light for the debug. I’m pretty positive there’s an led because it’s been red and there’s a spot on the MB with debug led. I flipped the psu switch both ways multiple times and I’m pretty sure there’s no way I shorted it because the standoff’s are preinstalled. I know there are stories where people have loose screws that make contact to the case and motherboard that can short it. I didn’t see anything like thatz.Although I didn’t plug the 8 pin in all the way it was being stubborn and pushed it all the way in hoping that was it.Still nothing. But what makes me nervous is I unplugged everything plugged it back in a couple times still nothing. I even took out the MB and set it on it’s original case I had kept and I plugged in the 24 pin and the 8 pin with just the cpu and ram. Nothing else. No cooler obviously and I’m pretty sure that’s not bad to do? I really don’t know but no led so I am concerned about that. I’m exhausted and am going to try again tomorrow once I hear back from you guys hopefully. One thing i might try if you guys agree is try plugging in the original 8 pin that came with the psu. I have some black one from cable mod I believe as well as my 8+6 pin for my house. I currently have the MB and cpu on their own and the case and radiator and what not also separate. Please feel free to give suggestions.
