I would like to do the following...
When I press say, F1, it inserts a particular sentence. F2, a different
sentence...
Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

Yes, but not within Windows itself (as far as I know). You need a
third-party program.

I myself am looking around for a decent one. Remotekeys looked
good, but half the "English version" help file is in German.

Try Macro Express.
I have been using it for years. It's pretty neat. It's shareware too, try
before buy. Go to www.macros.com.
