Question Choppy/laggy motion on high fps

Hello! I have a really weird problem that has been happening for a year now.

My games (any game, but i mostly play cs) get really choppy unless i use gsync + vsync + low latency mode. Capping the frames does not help (low latency mode caps it but if i do it manually it does not get better). I tried 2 different monitors, 4 gpus (1 amd 3 nvidia), 2 motherboards, 2 mice, 4 versions of windows. Somehow on an amd gpu, just capping the frame rate manually helps almost all the time, but since it was a really old gpu, i couldnt really test it against my 3080.

It just started on a random day and i cant unsee it now. I play on a 180hz ips monitor. Right now i have a 5600x and a 3080.

I am planning to buy a 7800x3d and a zowie dyac monitor, but since the games are unplayable without gsync + vsync, i would not be able to enable dyac.

It absolutely does not matter how much fps i have. I can have 800 fps and still be choppy like 60hz. E.g: league of legends 500 fps and the camera movement is still laggy.

I cannot figure out what the problem is and i cant find much people having this issue.

Well, there's your problem.

Your monitor can only be smooth in the range it supports, you can look it up in the manual but it is usually between around 40FPS and up to the Hz it supports.
Tl;dr
If you go above 180FPS ( ~178) it will not be as smooth as below 180.
Get a higher refresh monitor if you want to have it be smooth at a higher FPS.
