Clean the filters

I opened my case to add another card and glanced at the front filter.
Completely blocked. About 12 months time.
It is a wonder that my CPU had not burned up.

In the fine print of the case manual, it says to clean the filters
regularly.

Don't use the filters, just blow out your system ever 4 months with
compressed air....

Someone who'd forget or choose not to take out a filter and clean it is
more likely to blow out their system with compressed air?

Seems like same difference to me, just a matter of being mindful of
periodic system maintenance except without the filters you'll still have
greater, gradual accumulation of dust in all the nooks and crannies even
if it's blown out. Plus, some items aren't so easy to blow out, like
power supply, and others require partial disassembly, like smaller fans
that are potentially damaged if subject to overly strong stream of
compressed air.

easier to clean off the filters than to spray the whole inner case. Don't
even have to remove them on my case :-D

You need to spray out the inner case anyway.....

I have been doing that for 12 years and I have yet to blow out a fan...

Nope, what did you think the filters were there for?

The whole point of filters is quite specifically that you do not have to
spray out the case.

Why is that? - there's no dust in there cos of the filters ;-) I go through
every 6 months or so with a can anyway, but it never moves any dust cos
there ain't any.
