Question Clear CMOS by shorting CMOS Battery?

Hi all,

I need to clear the CMOS on an old Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop. It has no jumper pins, and the CMOS battery is soldered to the board, it does not post.

Can I clear the CMOS by shorting the battery, or do you recommend another way?

Is there a reset button?

I wouldnt suggest shorting a lithium battery.

Nope, no reset button of any kind.

Shorting the battery would work then?
