Question Clicking noise from the PSU area ?

Hey, i hear a clicking noise from the psu area. i can hear it while the pc is on and while it is turned off. The pc is new and the psu is 500w.

it is not loud, but i can hear it effortlessly at night, my cpu is i5-12400f, gpu is 3060 12gb, memory is ddr4.(edit: ticking describes the noise better)

Yeah that sounds like a bad fan. Needs to be replaced immediately if it's the psu. Check all other fans don't have anything stuck in them.

It's a relay. Totally normal.

What's the brand and model of the PSU?

Ok, I've just had to import that sound into Audacity, and tweak it to bring the chatter sound to stand more clear from the background noise. There is this repeating rhythm, that at first glance can gives ideas of a drum set.

First - this almost rule out a fan issue. But have a visual check to see if the fan is actually spinning. If the fan spin seemingly at normal speed, you can rule out fan problem.

Relay? Well, some PSU may have a relay while other might not have one, depending of the design.

Does this sound change in intensity or frequency if you change the load (ie. running stress test) ?
