Hello,

just had an issue w/ my pc.
PC specs.
AMD athlon X2
DDR
no floppy

NO changes were made on my PC software/hardware.

it keeps on asking me:

cmos checksum error default loaded

F8
F9
F1 & del. to enter set up.

by pressing F1, my PC can start.

but everytime I turn my PC "ON", keeps on asking me same old error.

It used to be an error ...

Floppy disk(s) fail; error 40
cmos checksum error default loaded

my initial resolution was to
1. replace battery,
2. reset cmos jumper
3. reset correct time.
4. remove & reconnect cables.
5. disabled drive A; Floppy on booting in cmos / BIOS ..whatever that is.

Now, keeps on asking me for this
"cmos checksum error default loaded"
whenever I start my pc., w/c i uses F1 to start, but I wanted it to start naturaly as it used to w/o me having to go thru all these checksum error....

PLS. HELP me...

I do not know how to reconfigure this cmos/bios on my pc if I chooses delete as options instead of F1...

yes, time is defaulted w/c causes me to view certificate whenever I access web.

did try a new battery, it did work @least for awhile by restarting my pc, maybe 15mins. the most after unplugging my pc, & having it started again....
but if it is more than 15mins. of being unplugged, still same old error.

yes, it could be the battery.

I will try again purchasing a brand new battery from a different store, maybe getting an original one. I could hav bought a fake one.

thanks.

I'll keep u posted on to any updates.

thanks again for ur reply, & sorry to bother U. :wahoo:

thanks.

did change the battery but still got same error all over again...

time/date is always updated but still same error...

checked power supply, was getting 240volts from my Auto voltage regulator when it should be 220V...

used another AVR ... & it did work... upon start up, goes straight to windows.....

Power supply voltage could be the culprit...

but hey, it took me 2 weeks to figure it out...

thanks a lot for all your help...
