Comparing processors

im putting together a new dell laptop and im looking at processors now. when customizing, dell has a few different ones to offer. basically i just want to know if it is worth it to upgrade from the one thats included in the price or if i should spend a little bit more to upgrade. i dont think i would be so confused but i cant really tell if there is a difference in power when looking at the information they give on them.

the 1 thats included- Intel® Pentium™ Dual Core T4400 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB/1MB cache)

$75 upgrade- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T6600 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache)

im trying to do some game playing along with video/photo editing but it seems like the only difference is the cache, so is the mb upgrade worth the $75?

It should give you a better idea of what to expect from either one.

Personally speaking, my old man has a laptop with an T5200 or something in it and mine has a T6400...the difference is night and day to me in regard to how quick mine is over his. I'd go with the T6400.

right, i checked out that link but i cant really tell the difference. i mean yes obviously there is a difference but i cant tell if there is an obvious difference. processors are the 1 thing i still don't know enough about yet unfortunately. i just cant tell if its worth the extra money to upgrade to the t6600 or not. because if it isn't obviously i would rather put that money to another component or something.

that's the link that compares the two. if someone could just give me an idea of how big a difference in computing power or just straight up if its worth the money or not would be really appreciated.
