Compatability ?? Please help ???

Can anyone tell me if an Intel Pentium4 2.4A CPU Chip is compatible with an Asus P4PE-X motherboard?

It seems I purchased these before doing the proper research (idiot) and I may not be able to return the chip now. I can't seem to find a difinitive answer.

If your cpu is the prescott 2.4a, probably not. I wouldn't open the cpu package. Maybe you can sell it on ebay, or in your local paper. If you decide to run it, I would check newegg's refurbished section for an inexpensive board with the 865pe chipset.

Yes, the standard 2.4A will work with that board.
