Hi I'm getting pay through this week and really looking forward to finally having enough spare cash to be able to upgrade my GPU into something that can run games. I made a thread a few days ago asking if an R9 280 would be able to run on a 500W power supply and my hopes were shot down a bit because of the power supply requirements of the card. I was wandering what people on here would recommend me do, should I get a r9 270x OC or would I possibly be able to squeeze a r9 285 into my machine or would that be too much to ask? I'm not entirely sure of what to do at the moment and would really appreciate any advice or suggestions that people have. My budget is around £150 and thanks a lot in advance for any help given.

the evga 500 will run an i5 & a 280 easily mate, generally people are more concerned about the length of the gpu than the height though 😉 that windforce model is a long card - if you;re happy on the length side of things then I have no doubt it will fit - there are 2 shorter r9 280 models for similar money on there ,the sapphire dual x & the msi gaming but the windofrce has the better cooler.

There is probably no psu that will not run a GTX750 ti.
Most versions excepting the overclocked versions do not need a aux 6 pin power.
The GTX750ti is a couple of notches lower in capability than the GTX960, but it will run on a 300w psu. It is a significant jump over integrated graphics.

You could easily find a power supply by just unscrewing one side of the case. Go with an XFX or Seasonic power supply.

Yep mate ,its pretty much open.
I would probably go for a shorter model just to give yourself room for the tangle of cables you'll have with having a top mounted PSU.

There's the sapphire dual x & MSI gaming ones.

I would prob go with the sapphire.
SAPPHIRE AMD R9 280 Graphics Card (3GB, DDR5) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IRTXPBM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_wSi7ub0HA3QSM
Also I can see you have a fan mount above the hard drive ,spend a fiver & drop a fan in there as an intake just for fresh air for the GPU.

Measure the screw holes corner to corner across the width & I'll link you a decent one from amazon.

Is there ??
Leave it then mate - it looked empty - its mounted on the outside under the case front panel then??
If so that's fine.
I was looking at the cards & while that wondforce has 3 fans ,they're 80mm ones.
The sapphire only has 2 fans but they're 92mm & look to be just as good but quieter.
Either will suit fine mate though so happy purchasing.

back home now, only have mobile site while at work & its been playing up bigtime.
Yes the evga 500 will definitely run your cpu & the r9 280 - have no doubt at all about that mate.

regarding the fan ,Im talking about here where ive outlined in yellow
