I am dead-on brand new to the world of building computers. I haven't a clue on what to put where on these fancy "motherboards" and "optical drives". However, one of my cousins is somewhat of an expert at assembling these computers. I got $500 for my birthday and really want to build my own gaming PC. My cousin taught me what went where, and he referenced me to some building and part-choosing videos on YouTube. So, after a few days of mind-boggling, intense research, I have slapped together a list of parts.

Case: Antec VSK3000E
Power Supply: CoolMax ZX-500
Motherboard: Intel DQ45EK
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 270
Optical Drive: (Something I fished out of my age-old PC that works perfectly fine)

Can someone who is an expert please help me figure out if these components are compatible and what to do about the HDD and the memory of the PC?

Thanks.

Best buy doesnt carry parts, just pre-assembled stuff.

It should fit it, from looking at reviews. But those reveiws said the case was flimsy and lacked proper airflow. If comes with just one 80mm fan and little room for adding fans. I couldn't find the cpu cooler clearance 🙁

Lol I noticed that using a few more dollars on a better case would've improved the life of all components... The case is now a Rosewill Galaxy-01... Hopefully it fits everything! But do you think the Extreme3 r2.0 is better that the Pro3 r2.0? And is the better of the 2 good for overclocking? Thanks!
