Hi, I did everything that was listed under that subject to correct mine, but it doesn't like the switch "-c". Just won't take C: (boot drive) or H: (main drive) attrib -c ntdlr. Any other suggestions? Thanks Eddie Mattison
I'm not being pedantic but ntdlr wouldn't work - is that the exact syntax or the correct filename ntldr in your thread title? Try the /c switch instead of -c - that might work.
Hi, I've been looking at solutions for this problem on this forum because I'm having the same issue and all of the solutions include going to recovery mode and getting to a command prompt. I have a windows XP disc and when I enter recovery mode there is no option for a command prompt and it doesn't ask for a password. It only allows a reformat. I did the reformat, but I still have the Compressed NTLDR problem. How can I get to a command prompt to do the fix?
If you would, please post this to the appropriate forum category as a new thread describing your issue more in depth.
