I have recently run into a problem after choosing to get a new case, a new cpu, and a new motherboard. When plugged in and powered on it appears everything inside the case is working, all LEDs are on but nothing shows on moniter and after around 30 seconds it shuts off, and then turns back on after a couple seconds. This loop continues unless I turn off the power supply. Thought it could be my cooler not making contact enough and overheating, but i switched coolers and still nothing. Tried re-seating my ram, clearing cmos, and only having my ssd boot drive but nothing still. Was just using my power supply in my old case, so I am confident that it isn't the problem however I will try to use another one. Anybody have any advice of how to diagnose the problem?

Specs:
Asrock X370 Killer SLI/ac (new)
Ryzen 3600x (new)
EVGA gtx 1080
Corsair Carbide 275r (new)
Thermaltake 650w Power Supply

My first question is what EXACT model RAM kit do you have installed ?
It might just be a compatibility issue with the RAM you have.
But that is just a guess.

From what I am seeing in your motherboards manual, there aren't any Diagnostic LEDs on the motherboard.
So I would get a cheap internal motherboard speaker like this:
https://www.amazon.com/PC-Internal-Mini-Onboard-Speaker/dp/B002W4M0DW?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_3

Connect it to the Speaker Header on page 7 of your Manual:
https://download.asrock.com/Manual/X370 Killer SLIac.pdf

Then once the speaker is connected try to boot the PC and write down the sequence of Beeps output by the speaker.
That will give you a general idea of what component is causing the POST failure...

Thanks for the reply. The exact ram is GeIL EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model GPR416GB2400C16DC and here is the newegg link. I will try to get a motherboard speaker soon. Thanks!

That RAM kit (GPR416GB2400C16DC) is not listed on the QVL for your Motherboard (for Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPUs) so that may very well be the problem.

Is there any chance that you can return that RAM kit and get one that is listed on the QVL:
https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X370 Killer SLIac/index.asp#MemoryPR

Or one of these G.Skill kits that G.Skill lists as 100% compatible with your MB:
https://www.gskill.com/configurator...524725289&chipset=1526292662&model=1526293643

This kit is listed as compatible and is about $25 cheaper than the kit you have:

Okay, have solved the problem. Turns out I am a total idiot and my motherboard doesn't support ryzen 3000 series out of the box and i didn't really notice anything and didn't update the bios. Threw in my old 1600x cpu and everything is running normally, and now going to update bios to a version that supports my 3600x. Thanks for the help!
