Computer display getting corrupted on high load

Hi,

I recently upgraded my pc with new PSU (Corsair GS 600), CPU (I5 3570), motherboard (Gigabyte B75),ram (8gb ddr3) and SSD. I used my existing gpu which is GeForce 9800 and old hdds. My system runs just fine for hours when I am doing any normal computing. However when I am doing any cpu/gpu intensive thing like gaming, after few minutes my screens gets corrupted. I.e sometime the screen gets very grainy, at other times it gets corrupted completely with random static image on screen. In the first case I can restart my system gracefully from start menu, in the second case I cannot even use ctr-alt-del. There is no other way but to reboot it via reset button.
Since there are a lot of changes that I have made to my system configuration I am unable to judge what could be the problem point. However I believe that its not a GPU issue, as it was running just fine on my previous hardware. How to converge to the faulty hardware ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's an older gpu that ran/runs HOT. I have the same card in an older system at my house. What are your temps while gaming?
Temps on everything, cpu, gpu etc.

That sounds like an overheating problem. You may want to install something like speedfan or coretemp and keep an eye on your cpu and gpu temps while gaming.

After your comment I did start monitoring my cpu/gpu temperatures. But my cpu never crossed 54 deg C and my gpu never crossed 57 deg C. I guess these are pretty decent temperatures ?

Those are good temps for a load.

Is there any consistency as to when it crashes? What i mean by this is... Does it crash when loading a map? Or some sort of data. Anything that is consistent.

It happens after a few minutes of gameplay. The time varies upon the games I play. While playing fifa 13, it might not happen at all or happen after 1-2 hours. While playing far cry 3 it will happen within an hour at low setting and within 15-20 minutes at high settings.
Could it be that my psu is unable to supply higher power to components under load ? Although its rated @ 600 W 80% efficiency, is there any way to check the voltages across components ?

That still sounds like overheating. Could it be, that only the memory on the video card is overheating, because something is blocking the air flow?

just wanted to update that I changed my BIOS settings for gpu from auto to PEG, and havent faced the issue for last 2-3 days. Not sure weather its resolved or just havent occurred yet.
@noidea_77 : I have a decently sized case with 5 fans and all components are well spaced. I dont think it should have any air flow issues.

The screen is frozen and so is sound. No keys work. The only option is to hard reboot.
