Hey guys, me and my partner have gaming setups in one room, and wanting to move the setups around a bit, we moved mine and everything was okay, we both have the computers on the tables, but unfortunately, when we moved her table about 1-2 metres, not even touching the pc, when plugged in, it just spins the fans for not even a second, and leds power on the same duration as the fans, prior to this, everything was working fine,

Her specs are:
Motherboard - Asrock H310CM DVS
I5-8500
GTX 1070ti
16GB Corsair RAM 2400mhz
Master liquid ML240MM Watercooler
PSU- Kolink 750W
(24Pin connector/ GPU power connector and CPU power connector have custom sleeves to make the build look nicer)

Things I've tried are
Clearing CMOS, Taking out CMOS battery for about 18+ hours
Used another GPU, still the same issue, so could be motherboard, BUT, I think as far as I remember this has happened before, but fixed after CMOS reset.
Tried and checked every connector on the motherboard
Tried different RAM. although I didn't think that would even be a ram issue.

Any help really APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks guys!

Try and power the system without the sleeved extension/cables and see if the stock cabling revivves the system.

Use another wall outlet in your room or the one that your system is hooked to, without your system to see if it regains life.

How old is the PSU in your build?

I’ll give it a try there and let you know, I forgot to mention I did try plugging it straight into the wall where it was plugged in previously but it still didn’t power on, I’ll try it without the custom sleeves now and I’ll let you know, appreciate it

I tried plugging the 24 pin connector straight in without the sleeves, and still nothing, same issue, and also the PSU was bought this year, around march, but I've tried my own PSU and still didn't work, Thanks for the help

If you have 2 ram.. Take out the second one and try to turn on the cpu with one ram installed.. If it turns on then install then second one.. Also reset cmos.. And check 24pin connector and 8pin atx connector..if you use m. 2 nvme check it is properly fitted in the slot

I tried with 1 stick of ram, same issue, I also reset cmos many times and checked and retried the 24 pin connectors and tried a different psu connected to the motherboard too, still same issues and my partner has SSDS as storage, no m.2 slot on the motherboard, appreciate your help :)

I can see this issue is probably related to atx 24 pin cable... Just remove it and put it back together both 8 pin and 24 pin.. Also turn on /off the pw switch on the back of psu

SOLVED!!!!!!! I Still do not know what it was, but I went shopping and came across an Electrical Contact Cleaner, I thought I'll give it a try, I got home and sprayed it into the 24 pin, 8 pin connector and motherboard, a few hours later, decided to try it, and just powered right up! Thank you guys for all the help, appreciated!!

But now there’s another issue unfortunately, so the motherboard has two outputs for display, which are DVI and VGA no signal from GPU nor The DVI to HDMI cable I have from
Motherboard to monitor, I don’t have a vga monitor to try that option at all, but now I’ve no clue what to do, cmos ain’t fixing it anyway, trying to think of how to sort this out now, if you’d have an idea 🙏

Remove GPU than try on board Video outs.

Do you live in a salty location, smoke or vape. You don't have to answer I was just thinking your trick with the contact cleaner might work on the PCI-E slot as well. Your gaming room looks clean and by the way nice set-ups.

I tried removing the gpu and using motherboard video outputs to no avail, my partner vapes and I do smoke yeah and we’re in the middle of Ireland so no salt here 😂 and I might try the contact cleaner on the PCIE now, but will have to give it some time to dry, and Thank you, looks nicer at night with all the LEDs 👌
