Like the title say. When i watch videos or streams online my computer freezes (youtube, twitch, facebook videos etc) And i think it might be related to my new graphics card. Last week i bought a R9 290 and i got the right drivers to get it working correctly yesterday. (Had problems with low fps and such) but the freezing came when i installed the card. I have also just reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64bit (last Saturday)

I was having the same problem with my r9 290x after install internet videos, flash etc would completely lock up my computer, if you haven't found a solution yet or are still having problems what fixed it for me was

- open CCC
- go to the video tab and select "global video quality"
-in this menu deselect "enforce smooth video playback"

after I had done that everything ran smooth as could be I haven't had a lock up of any sort since, and I've stress tested it and benchmarked to the extreme to ensure it wasn't a bad card.

Really my top slot was working well my old-gtx550ti .. I switched to the R9 290, i was playing well, but watching videos crashed the pc. Moved to the bottom pci-e and fix the problem. I recommend everyone try if you have another pci-e slot and have the same problem I had them.

No I will not switch to another PCI-E slot they go down in performance from 16x to 8x. What fixed my freezing on youtube and not liveleak was to disable smooth play in global video settings in CCC also make sure your fan speed is around 40-45-50rpms and not default 20rpms you might get away with it if water cooled butthis sapphire can get up to 79 degrees I idle at 38c and never go higher than 40c low 40s watching videos on youtube and whatnot. LiveLeak uses different players such as shockwave and that software is horrible, Adobe purposely makes it so that you will have a hard time. Adobe is corrupt. I have so much dirt on them.

I have this exact same problem with my r9 290 tri-x, this happens on the beta drivers 15.4.
It only happens when watching youtube/streams, and it only happens like 10-24 hours apart.

I tried only installing the display drivers, no ccc etc. Still happened.

I have rolled back now to the omega drivers 14.12 and will report back if it still occurs. I also have my CPU overclocked but its been stable for a long time now, was 100% stable when I was using my old gpu 560 ti.

All temps are fine under full load, etc have stresstested my system for 24hours and everything is fine.

Edit: Still freezes, and loops the last 1 sec of audio from the stream/video on 14.12 drivers. Will do some further testing.
