Suddenly, my computer cannot boot normally, it freezes in the very initial screen, only detecting the CPU, but it doesn't detect anything else; and the keyboard can't be used since it is not detected yet, so I can't go to the BIOS setup.

Here is a picture of the screen when it is frozen:

I have already tried:
-Unplugged everything, leaving only the PSU, the vga monitor, the CPU and the RAM.
-Swapped the RAM modules; tried using only one of them and then the other in different slots. Then I tried turning it on with no memory sticks since I read somewhere it should beep. But my computer does not beep even when it is working normally. Anyway none of these RAM tests worked.

The mainboard is a GYGABYTE G41MT-S2PT

Any ideas?

Thank you

if computer was in working state(surf internet, play games)then may help by removeing BIOS battery for a minute and insert back.(quoter size round skinny metal thing.located under pci"e slot or gpu.) that makes BIOS reset to default settings.hope it helps.:)

Thank you .. I tried removing the battery and that didn't help, also tried clearing the CMOS by shorting the 2 pins with no positive result.
Any other ideas?...
Thanks

Can you try taking the battery out and booting? I've seen PCs that wouldn't boot with a weak battery but were okay with either a fresh one or none at all. A motherboard of that vintage probably has a battery that's getting old...

Hi, well I tried booting without the battery and problem persists. I have another computer with the same mainboard, same memory and same CPU. I swapped every component, and found out that is not the memory, is not the PSU, is not the CPU, so the only one could be the mainboard. Any final suggestions before breaking my wallet on a new MB?
