Hello,

I have a strange problem and I can not determine what is causing it.
The computer makes a strange ''hovering''.
I have tried to find it if it were one of the fans, but I can only hear them ''spinning'' when I am really close to them.
The computer ''shakes''.
I am not sure if this is normal, so can someone tell me what could cause this ''hovering'' sound, because so far I have not find any information.

Thank you for reading

One thing you can try is to remove every fan to see if you can pinpoint where the noise is coming from. How many fans do you have and what are their sizes in millimeters? It could also be the power supply fan or the CPU fan, too. Is this a new build? Does this noise happen during heavy CPU usage? I suppose you could also have a faulty fan. Maybe you can try to replace a fan? See if that helps.

Pull out all the case fans and see if the sound continues. If it does than you know its hardware related maybe the CD drive or HDD. If the sound stops than you know its fan related. At that point I would hook each fan up one at a time until you find the one making the noise.

It turns it out that the CD drive is making the noise, can someone tell me how to prevent this?
And no, there is disk in it.

I don't think there is any way to make it quiter other than tearing it apart which probably wouldn't be worth your time. Just check real fast to make sure the drive is fully locked in place either with screws or tooless latch. If it's held in place by screws make sure they are tight.

Hey thanks!
You were right, the CD drive was not screwed tight enough, wich made it shake much.
Thank you 😉
