Computer stuttering while playing games.

Just recently my computer has began stuttering a lot while playing games that it would normally max out. Changing the game's settings does not appear to help.

I decided to download and install some programs to check the temperatures of the CPU and GPU to see if they were overheating and noticed two things that worry me.

    1. The voltage measurements for the motherboard given to me by HWMonitor are nowhere near where they are supposed to be.

    2. The temperature measured by SpeedFan for a chip (IT8620E) on my motherboard is 127 degrees Celcius.

Here is a screencap of the two programs together: http://i.imgur.com/y9q0tli.png

What's wrong with my computer? Is the motherboard going bad or something? Is it something else?

> Mainboard : Gigabyte H97-D3H-CF
> Chipset : Intel Haswell
> Processor : Intel Core i5 4440 @ 3100 MHz (max : 12804)
> Physical Memory : 8192 MB DDR3-SDRAM
> Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
> Hard Disk : Western Digital WD10EZEX-22BN5A0 ATA Device (1000GB)
> DVD-Rom Drive : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSB0
> Network Card : Intel Ethernet Connection I217-V
> Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RTL8190 802.11n Wireless LAN
> Operating System : Windows 7 Home Premium Home Edition Media Center 6.01.7601 Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
> DirectX : Version 11.00
> Windows Performance Index : 5.9 on 7.9

Something is definitely wrong for it to display those voltages - if you were running 6V on the 12V rail, the computer wouldn't boot. Usually the voltages should be within 10% on any of the measurements.

127 Degrees C would trigger a shut down....

Do you have the latest drivers installed for the mobo? (Visit Gigabyte's website for these - you may also need a BIOS update - but be very careful to follow their directions exactly to perform the BIOS update).

I've gone ahead and updated the bios to the latest version listed on the Gigabyte website, and while I was in there, I snagged a screenshot of some voltage measurements in the bios. Unfortunately updating the bios doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

What do you think of this?

Speedfan does not always give correct temperature values. I would be extremely hesitant to believe that your mobo is actually at 127C; that would practically set your house on fire.

1. Which games are you experiencing the stuttering in?
2. Have you recently changed any of your hardware?

I'm surprised you concluded that the temperatures or voltages were causing stuttering. I would have assumed it to be a software problem.

To answer your questions:

1. I have experienced stuttering so far in Warframe and Killing Floor. That's all I've been playing recently. I don't really think this is unique to only those two games, but I will test some other games later on and see what happens.

2. I added a wireless network card about a month ago (but the stuttering issue has not been going on for that long.)

I'm having these problems regardless of whether I'm playing online with other people or not, so I don't think it's a network issue.

I honestly don't know the difference between the two, so I don't know which one I am experiencing. :??:
