I am going to upgrade my CPU and was wondering if everything was going to work together without anything going wrong. I'm also wondering if I might need to upgrade something else like my motherboard, because it's kind of outdated.

Specs :
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
Processor (The one I'm going to buy) : Intel i5 4690K 3.5 GHz - 3.9 GHz
RAM : 6 GB
Graphics Card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB (mini version)
Motherboard : ASUS P5QL-E
Power Supply : SL-700

I'd like to hear if this will work out, please tell me :)

You can enter the components and check compatability here: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

Harry is right, that link will help you a lot with comparability and power requirements. Regardless what type of RAM are you getting? Might be more cost effective to go with 2x4GB sticks for a total of 8GB. Also I see your power supply is 700W which seems a bit overkill. Just a few items to help you reduce the price.

Your motherboard socket is an LGA 775 socket so you'll want to get a z97 motherboard to house an i5 4690k and take advantage of overclocking. Also what is the power supply? The fact that just put 700w scares me into thinking it is a generic power supply?

Is that an Inter-Tech power supply?

I was a bit dumb when buying a new power supply, so I didn't know and bought a 700W one xD

So the i5 4690k wouldn't even fit in the motherboard that I am using right now ? Or will it not just be able to overclock?

Have you entered all of your components into PC Part Picker? If so, were there any compatability issues flagged?

Yes, the cpu and motherboard are not compatible. But I'm just asking if it were to still work fine or I HAVE to get a new motherboard in order for it to work.

The intel product page (http://ark.intel.com/products/80811/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz) gives details on the CPU. The CPU's socket is LGA1150 and your current motherboard is LGA 775 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131322), so the motherboard you listed in the original post will 100% not work with the i5 4690K.

Basically no there is no way an i5 4690k will work on your motherboard so in order to have that CPU you MUST upgrade your motherboard. As for the PSU I can't really find anything on it and it seems like a generic unit so you'll want to look into replacing that because using high performance parts on a low quality PSU can cause you to run into pretty big problems.
