[SOLVED] Computer won't start fans spin fine

So, my computer stopped working a couple weeks ago. Initially it seemed like the motherboard was the problem as nothing would happen and it wouldn't even POST so I bought a new one and now it does, and power runs through the system as the fans are running but now I get a black screen. I figured it the cpu died with the motherboard so I replaced that with another one I had but I'm having the same problem. I've tried resetting Bios. Apologies if I'm missing something obvious most of my hardware knowledge has come from the last 2 weeks trying to solve this problem

CPU: Intel i7 6700k
PSU: Corsair TX650M
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB
RAM: 2x 8 GB

test the monitor on another pc?
take the gtx 970 out and test with the igpu output on the motherboard?

Monitor works fine, no change when I take out the 970

Connected it to my laptop

That what I thought, I've tried a new PSU and no change at all, same problem

are the cpu/motherboard new? test the old setup with new psu(without the gpu)

With old cpu & motherboard not even the fans start
Also tried old cpu new motherboard, fans started but no display still
With New cpu and old motherboard the fans didn't start again, hence my thinking in replacing the motherboard but now my fans work & can't get a display

test with 1 stick of ram? try another monitor cable/connection?
