Hey guys I wanted to add a hard drive to my desktop and I got the hard drive all done. But when I powered up I was getting a memory error which is an easy fix for me so I removed my cmos battery for a few minutes then I reinserted the battery plugged the power cord back in pressed the power button and nothing happened. I thought it was the power supply so I did the paperclip test the power supply works fine. Is it possible that removing the cmos battery caused my motherboard to fry? Here is the motherboard I have

H87M-pro4
I don't have a cmos jumper as the boos chip is non removable.

I look forward to hearing from you thanks.

as in the grounding rant, the clip should attach to a bare metal, unpainted surface.
if there is not a bare metal available scratch some paint where it is not visible and use that as your grounding point from now on.

page 10 number 22 is the clear CMOS jumper.
the paperclip test is not a test, it can only tell you if the PSU can power a fan not whether it can sustain load.
I doubt that removing the battery caused a problem unless you were sloppy in your grounding procedures and fried something.

Canned Grounding Rant-
shut down system and remove side panel. with the power cable plugged into the PSU touch a bare unpainted metal area of the case. (my favorite spot is an unpainted screw securing the PSU) once you have grounded yourself you can unplug the computers power cable from the PSU and can touch the system.
if you move your feet, or shuffle in your chair, plug in the cord, reground yourself and unplug again.
end canned rant-

R_1 I also bought a alligator ground clip this morning where would clip it can I unscrew one on the psu screws a little bit and clip on that? I look forward to hearing from you thanks.
