My Toshiba DP80F printer and Dell 4600 desktop have an
intermittant printing problem. Sometimes (not often) it
prints ok, other times (mostly) it only prints the top
few lines. Toshiba technician checked it out at home but
couldn't identify solution. Drivers and are cables ok.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

If, as I suspect, this is a dot matrix printer, or an older inkjet printer,
You should try changing the parallel port mode in BIOS to SPP or
bi-directional instead of EPP or ECP. A reboot should load the correct
driver configuration for the port. A few printers may also require that you
re-install (remove first) the printer drivers if this is the case.
