So I've had two Blackwidow Chromas in the space of a week. Both had the same problem, spamming keys so I got my plan B, the K70 RGB which does almost everything right (the keys feel a lot better when typing, but in GTAV I didn't notice too much difference), but the lighting is poor. Inaccurate whites, colour bleed and overall duller. On the Blackwidow, the lighting could tell me my active window or whether my computer had shut the screen off (which happens, because I go for long periods), light up keys that I will need automatically or have it disable the Windows key automatically when a game starts. I'm told I can do stuff like this with the K70, but I don't know how to yet (literally got it today).

Which is the better keyboard to stick with? To date, Corsair products have never failed on me or let me down in the long run. I use their parts in my computer (RAM and previously a PSU) and my mouse is also made by Corsair. I like the switches on the K70 better, they feel a lot like the ones on the very first mechanical keyboard I used which got me to finally get one of my own (the blackwidow). I'm set to return my Blackwidow for my money back, but would I making a mistake (or is the bigger mistake considering keeping a keyboard, because of light)

atm, the Corsair works better once in Windows, but does not work at all before. I can't reach BIOS with it or do anything. It's still asleep at the login screen so I have to wait for it. Tried my old Logitech wireless keyboard, got to the BIOS first time and it was fully working. Plugged the Razer in, same story, no issues. Tested the Corsair for about 20 minutes in different BIOS modes, couldn't reach the BIOS, not even once. Tried using it in the BIOS once I got in with the Logitech, keyboard didn't work

I dont really get the opening sentance but what i understand id that corsair isnt working with your bios? If bios is really important to you and you use it at least once a day or so then dont use the k70 becasue it will just become really annoying (I think) but if you only use the bios once a fortnight or month then keep a spare keyboard around (if you do prefer the keys over the lighting) Hopefully this heps

What I mean is, if I want to reach or use the BIOS with Corsair, I cannot do it, because the keyboard is still asleep even until after the lockscreen is ready. I haven't accessed BIOS since last year (other than recently when testing this keyboard out) when I had issues (stability is finally a word my computer knows). The Logitech works from the second its receiver gets power, so reaching the BIOS with that is not an issue.

There is one feature on the Blackwidow I would have made use of, the USB pass through. I'm out of rear USBs for my mic

Did you use the BIOS switch on the back of the keyboard?

I think what i said earlier is still valid: if you only use the bios once an age then keep the k70 and use your logitech when you need bios. Thats what I would do. But if you still prefer the lighting of the chroma over the keys of the k70 use that permanently.

The K70's lighting is growing on me :)
