[SOLVED] Converting Ethernet cable to Coaxial

I have fiber optic internet that comes into my house via Ethernet cable. I recently purchased a modem-router that only had a female coaxial port. Is there any way to adapt the Ethernet cable so I can connect it to the modem router?

No it is not just a conversion from one form of cable to another. The modem in your device is only designed to talk to the equipment at a cable company. The way it passes data is very different than ethernet. Now very technically you could buy a box that emulates the device a cable company uses at their office and put that in between but buy a new router that has a ethernet wan port is going to be much cheaper.

If you currently are getting a private IP, and want to use your router for WIFI, just don't use its WAN port, configure it for Access Point only.

If you currently getting a public IP, then what bill says.

You bought a cable modem? What model?
No you can not normally use it. Get a regular wifi router.
