Hello,

I am planning on using a Cooler Master CPU cooler in my PC, and since my motherboard does not have a 4 pin RGB controller I would be using their included RGB button controller which is powered from Molex. I do not have any Molex connectors on my power supply, so I was wondering if it was safe to convert an extra SATA plug into Molex for the RGB controller using something like this. If there are any easier ways to get a Molex connector that I didn't think of let me know as well. (I don't have a modular power supply.)

Thanks!

Solution
An "easier" way would be to cut and splice wires ;)

I see nothing wrong with these adapters, just make sure said cooler does not overload +5/+12 power rails.

Ok thanks! (My wiring skills would disagree with your first statement haha). I would be powering just the RGB LEDs and lighting controller with the Molex, the actual fan power will be from the 4 pin header so I think it'll be alright.
