I have an i58400 but plan to upgrade to i79700k, I was wondering what the best cooler I can possibly get even tho I don't plan to overclock. I know that the hyper 212 won't cut it and even then it's about 6 years old now and it should probably be replaced.

I have the Noctua NH D 15 for i7 9700. Its massiv in size so you need a case that has the space and depends on your MB your ram should not be so tall or it may conflict with the front fan. NH D 15S has only one fan and suposed to be not so much worse then the 2xfan.
In MC H500 mesh front case my CPU is under 70c when pushed.

go with AIO kraken x62 or some other 280mm from corsair brand... air cooler you need bulky one what will looks ugly and take plenty room so probably if you decide air cooler d15 or dark rock pro 4.. but i would go on AIO with no doubt on your place..

Aorus 240 liquid cooler . I got 1 month ago for my i7 9700k that was running hot with air cooler. This new aio cooler keeps it at 31 to 36 idle and gaming pubg or escape from tarkov all ultra setting at 1440 temps do not go above 60 c. Plus the cooler has a lcd screen that list specs of your choosing. Pretty sweet cooler.
