Corsair H55 with the i7 8700k

Hello guys,

I'm just wondering if the Corsair H55 cooler will be good enough for an i7 8700k. I have no interest in overclocking. Just wanted to know if that cooler will keep the CPU cool under load.

Yes but it will run warm. You could save money and get a Cryorig H7 which will be slightly better and cheaper. Plus being an air cooler less points of failure. Otherwise you will need a 240MM AIO.

Also if you aren't going to overclock why not get a standard 8700.

alright, how about the 7700k? will it be fine for that? or still get too hot

Dont buy a 7700k over a 8700 just to use a sub par water cooler. There is 0 reason to get a 7th gen Intel right now. Get the normal 8700 and the Corsair H55 will be ok, but again its not really that great of a cooler

Don't buy terrible liquid coolers, for that price you can buy something like Noctua NH-D14 which will kick that H55s butt all day long.

Liquid coolers under 100 bucks are in general a bad purchase, because they are usually subpar to air cooling 40% lower priced than that.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to get the i7 8700k and I'm upgrading my CPU cooler to the corsair h100i v2. With this cooler, I will overclock even though I said I wasn't going to
