Hey everyone, I have a quick question about my upcoming build I hope someone could help explain. I currently have the Corsair H150 Elite LCD XT. I am very picky about how my PC looks, so I am going to swap the fans out to match the other fans in my build. I have not purchased the fans yet, but I am going to purchase Lian Li Uni Fan SL V2's or Lian Li SL-Infinity's for my entire build. Both of these fans support PWM, so I know that they would work for my cooler. I have seen ways that both of these fans could be connected to the Lian Li controller and the motherboard. You have to use the cable from the single pack to connect the SYNC end to the Lian Li controller, and connect the other end to your motherboard for fan power.

I was wondering if I could do this a different way without any issues. I would prefer if all of my cooling was controlled directly by software that I can tinker with. I would still connect the SYNC cable into the Lian Li controller, and this would enable me to control the RGB in synchronicity with the other 7 case fans. However, I was wondering if I could connect the fan power cable to the Corsair AIO controller. Then, this would allow me to control fan speeds depending on temperature through Corsair software. I was just unsure if the Corsair software would run into any compatibility or technical issues being connected to different branded fans (fans are daisy-chained so I do not know if this will cause any issues).

Thanks Everyone!

Your motherboard should have fan headers both for the pump and/or fan cooler, then there should be case fan headers.
If you are going to daisy chain fans, I suggest using a fan hub for that, as (according to other factors) typically you don't want to hook more than 3 fans to the same header without an optional power source..which is where the hub comes in.

Yes, hooking my fans to my motherboard is what I don't want to do. I like to have control of my fan speeds within its' respective software. Therefore, I would have to use L Connect 3 (Lian Li fans come with hub) or iCUE (Corsair AIO comes with hub). I have heard that L Connect 3 is not the best when it comes to controlling PWM fans on your AIO. Some people have reported fans go into overdrive way too often. That makes me want to use iCUE, but I have Lian Li fans. I was wanting to know if plugging Lian Li fans into the Corsair hub for power/connectivity would cause any issues. I can connect the RGB to the Lian Li hub with no problem. I have to control the RGB with L Connect 3 from the Lian Li hub, that is where the remained of my cases fan will be connected. I want them to be synced. It is the Lian Li fans into the Corsair hub I am questioning. I do not know if iCUE will run into any issues with daisy-chained or different-branded fans.
