Question CORSAIR TX650M enough for 4070ti ?

Hey,

I just bought a 4070ti Gigabyte Eagle, and while I'm waiting for it to be shipped I'd like some help figuring out if my Corsair TX650M will be able to power it.

It says on Gigabyte's website that the 4080 comes with ''One 16 pin to triple 8-pin power adaptor''. Meanwhile, the 4070ti comes with ''One 16-pin to two 8-pin power adaptor ''.

The TX650M has 2 separate cables with 2 6+2 PCIE pins on them.

You're looking at power alone, how old is the PSU in question? If you went with wattage alone, the answer would've been no;

as the suggested PSU by wattage is stated to be a 750W unit.

I was running a Vega 64 for the past 4 years, and the recommended wattage for PSU is also 750W. It actually has a little higher watt usage (295W for Vega and 285W for 4070ti).

I'm mostly wondering about the PCI-E cables and safety.

Don't think you 'll get into real trouble with trying. Just make sure you use both pcie power cables, first connector each.

Other thing what cpu? It's not just about the gpu, power draw between cpu's also can differ alot.

Processor: 5800x3d, 16gb*2 rams, two nvme m2 ssd 512gb and 1 tb

I've been using the TX650M with the 4070ti EAGLE GIGABYTE for a month now, and it's been running great ! No crashes and great temps. My CPU is an i5-12400 though.

It should work, but I hate being close on power.

Gaming I run 510 watts on a 4070TI.

Guess that is total system power, which would be fine. Is measured from the wall likely too which isn't what the pc really uses since energy efficiency still comes into play. Mean being gold rated in the case of a TXM, so the pc really uses about 90% of that amount.

Think you'll be fine, the 5800X3D isn't such a big power user as well.

Correct that is total system power with a 7900x + 4070TI.
