Cortana doesn't chat with me

I just upgraded from windows 8 to 10, and have been having issues with cortana. She does recognize my voice, when I say 'Hey Cortana', but anything I ask her, like what is your name, tell me a joke, tell me a story or anyhting like that, she simply opens up Bing search results instead of responding to me. I am logged in to my microsoft account, for logging into my pc. Please help me resolve this issue, I am really thankful.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Go to Setting and look for Privacy settings.
- Cortana requires you to enable privacy settings for microphone and in Speech, inking & typing.
- Also set Location privacy on.
- Once done doing all these open Getting to know you in Cortana and make sure it's also on.
- If all these are set up properly you'll be able to use Cortana once again.

I had already tried that to no avail....But now suddenly it worls fine. Thanks for the reply though
