Question Could this gash in my MB be causing a short?

Long story short, my MB just got a gash in it as can be seen in this image:

Since then I can’t get the PC to turn on at all. I unplugged the PS and turned it off for a min then plugged it back in and turned it back on. As soon as I switched PSU on, there was a quick flash from the MB then all dead again.

Does this likely mean that the gash in the MB is causing a short and the MB needs to be replaced?

Your video wont play, has to be hosted somewhere.

But from what you have said, it sounds like you may have damaged the board.

I just updated the post, I think the video is working now...

The damage is over traces. It's very possible it went deep enough to actually break them.
