Counter Strike Ducking Problem

Im having trouble ducking in CS 1.5. I dont know if its the upgrade thats doing this, or its just my computer, but everytime i press the duck button, it takes like almost a second before it actually ducks. so i press "duck", it waits for like a second, then it ducks... i had duck as "CTRL" button, then i switched it to "SHIFT" and it still does that, any ideas? Im using Win 2k Pro.

do you have any other lagged respones from other keys? or is +duck the only one? You might try reinstalling your keyboard drivers; or make sure you don't have some wierd script in your autoexec.cfg file making it wait;wait;wait;+duck or something like that. I dunno why you would, but that's all i can think of. I've never heard of that happening with just one function
