Couple issues with new build, help please

Just build a new rig with a:
ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77
Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz

With a COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO cooler. When I first booted up I got a CPU fan error and had to go into bios. I had to disable the temp monitor for the cpu fan. I seem to remember there was something like that that I had to do on another build. Something to do with it being an aftermarket cooler. Am I remembering correctly, that you have to turn off the the monitor or is there a problem?

Second problem is, after installing windows 7 64bit it's not picking up my lan port on the motherboard. It's flashing yellow. Is there a setting on the board I'm missing, or is it a driver issue? I figured those were all installed with Win 7, never had that problem before.

Are you sure you plugged the CPU fan into the CPU fan slot on the motherboard, and not a chassis fan socket?

It's a driver, will be included on your motherboard disc

Thanks for the relies. I found out, it was because you have to reduce the min spin up speed or it get's caught at boot. Just in case anyone else is looking for the answer!
