Hi all, I've been having this problem as of late and I don't know what is causing it.
I have a quad cores system and it NEVER used to do this until a few weeks ago, I boot up the computer and all of a sudden all 4 of my cores are near max and my sound jumps all over the place, like a lot of distortion... I scan my computer regularly and I am not idiot enough to let spyware or any programs of that nature to make its way onto my computer. I've checked my task manager and I only ever have about 20 running at start up... that are the normal ones.
What could be happening here? My CPU usage drops down to normal levels (less than 5% each) after about 10 minutes of the computer being on.
It's mind boggling.
PS: Like right now, CPU3 is maxed, CPU 2 is half maxed, and CPU 1 is empty, while CPU 0 is 30.
PPS: Also, when all of this is happening, my CPU temperature is up to about 50 Celsius, when NORMAL levels are 30 and below. After about 10 minutes or so, when the CPU usage goes down, so does the temperatures.
Any help from you fine folks would be greatly appreciated.
Windows 7, home premium, 64-bit
AMD Phenom, Quad Core 2.4ghz
4GB ram
I want to stress that this has not happened since before the time I have specified up above, this computer has always been treated well.
