Greetings, so recently I found out that with release newest high end games my cpu (i7-8700k) bottlenecks my gpu (Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti), so I decided it's time to upgrade my cpu. So far I came up with this and I need to check if the parts are compatible, so I would appreciate a nod from you guys. Just to mention, I'll also be replacing ram (Patriot Viper4 Series 32 GB KIT DDR4 3000 MHz CL16) as it's ddr4, and I will need ddr5 with new motherboard.

Parts I've chosen:
CPU - Intel Core i7-14700KF
MOTHERBOARD - MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI
RAM - Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36 Beast Black EXPO
GPU - Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

That's it. I will be keeping the power supply (Corsair AX1600i) if it's sufficient, as well as cooling system (Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB). Also next upgrade after this will likely be monitor with g sync, as I'm currently using "Asus VG248QE" as both main and secondary. That's it, I will appreciate any tips and suggestions you guys make about parts I've chosen, or better ones that you have in mind. Thanks a lot in advance.

Could argue for CL30 vs CL36 if price availability isn't too bad.

PSU should be just fine.

Might need a new bracket, or at least retrofit screws for the AIO cooler to ensure proper contact.

Understood, so I could go with something like this "G.SKILL 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL30 Trident Z5 NEO AMD EXPO", would you consider it better since it's CL30? I'm not familiar with G.skill enterprise tho, and I couldn't find corsair/kingstone with similar attributes on market in my country (slovakia). If you could suggest another cooler that would suffice I'm not opposed to idea of investing into new cooler as well. Also my pc case is NZXT S340 black, which is a middle one.

Afaik the G.SKILL Z5 NEO should have nice Samsung b-die's, if that's the case, shouldn't be a bad pick at all. Realistic lower CL @ the same frequency will simply just be better, provided the rest of the timings aren't a complete joke when they aren't realistic, but that's rare these days (and not the case with those). Could still save a couple bucks just going with the ones that aren't "AMD EXPO", if those are available.

From what I can see, you should be able to still use the cooler with the adjustable Intel backplate and this kit: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-components-accessories/cw-8960091/lga1700-retrofit-kit-cw-8960091 provided you can find it in Slovakia (or a retailer that isn't horrible to ship to). Would be a shame to throw away a perfectly fine AIO :)

Aight so I found this " View: https://i.imgur.com/u6NjbfG.png
" , I guess its a complete install set, so it should be pretty much the same as you posted?

I'd say sadly not, it's either get the retrofit standoffs for a decent guarantee it'll work, but some others seem to have used the LGA1200 standoffs that came with the cooler and have had it work just fine. The only difference being a very small change in height/length of the standoffs.

The kit shown there is for a completely different mounting system (the cooler itself screws into the 2 thread on the 2 bridge parts in the middle of the picture, the H150i has 4 screws in a rectangle, pretty much direct to the backplate).

If it was me, I would give the LGA1200 ones a go, if retrofits aren't available at their cheap price, and just have a planned cooler to buy if it doesn't work. I'm personally a bigger fan of air cooling, but as far as name brand AIOs go these days it's mostly: RGB standard fitting with motherboard/RGB controller, how cheap are the fans that are included, aesthetics/gimmicks.

Damn I see what you mean. Ok I will solve that no problem,

Oh now I got it. Ok, so Ill figure out the issue with screws and I will be good to go then. I will check backup cooling system just in case. If the rest of specs are fine then Im all set. Thank you so much for the input and help!
