hello everyone, I am planning to build a PC and i have been into CPU more. And i have got more doubts about the clockspeed . I am a noob so please answer me and let me join the pcmr.

1. If the base clock speed is 3.4GHZ, does it imply that all individual core run at 3.4GHZ or is it the total speed of all cores ?

2. I have read some articles that states that processor runs at 100mhz at idle state and there is a multiplier in settings, for example, for a 3.4GHZ processor it means it is multiplied by 34 to attain that speed, and why it cant run directly at 3.4ghz? why it cant run at base 3.4ghz rather than 100mhz. i dont understand the concept of it.

3. Is there any way of attaining the tubo boost speed always rather that base clock speed?

4. I understood that turbo core only applies to single core, is there any way for attaining that speed in all cores?

Solution
1.individual
2.because other components on the motherboard can't run at 3.4GHz
3.depend on the the motherboard/cpu, you can OC
4.nope. single core and all cores have different turbo speed
