[SOLVED] CPU FAN and Motherboard

Hi everyone,

I bought a used motherboard with the cpu already installed. One of the 4 screws securing the cpu fan to the motherboard is completely loose and there is no way to tighten it.
Could this give any problem or would the system still work?

Can you send a picture for context?
Having it screwed isn't the problem, it needs to be firmly on there with as even as possible mounting pressure.

Worst case scenario, say the backplate is broken, you can get a PLASTIC nut and PLASTIC washer, screw into that (Has to be plastic, metal would kill the board..) and do your best to not overtighten anything.

How did it even get to that state wtf

Anyway, you can use a regular (meaning it can be metal) nut and washer, and use a longer screw. keep in mind you need the pressure even, and not to overtighten it.

BTW you can also just, swap out that backplate.
