Hey guys,
So 2 weeks ago, I started to notice my FPS is low and not even stable in games but in the weirdest way I've ever seen. For example when I play Apex Legends, i get only 80-90 fps, which never happened before, it was stable 144 fps.

But here's the thing, when i do Alt tab, then go to task manager, everything is fixed and my FPS is back to 144 and stable, but when I close it, the fps is unstable after 15 minutes, so I have to leave task manager open. Seems like it's virus, and hiding when I open task manager.

So I installed Malwarebytes, tried Eset scan, and nothing was found. I did this scans after turning on my pc, when nothing was opened. Maybe what I found, is that, when I opened task manager, with game on, for a 1 milisec says 60% usage of CPU, then reduced to 20%, I did a fast print screen, but seems like I'm lost at this point, and don't know what to do.. I suspect it's more like a CPU problem than GPU, because my GPU isn't lagging. I tried to install HWInfo, GPU-Z and everything is okey with temperatures, and usage.. If anybody had this problem, and fixed it, it would help me a alot. I bought the PC 3 months ago. Reinstall is the last option.

try this step by step in order (read till end):
  • Disconnect from internet
  • Uninstall every gpu driver using DDU (clean and do not restart, also tick all option in Nvidia and AMD option in the ddu settings before doing so).
  • Uninstall all the processors (is a must, should be 16 on yours since it's 16 threads, also when it asks for restart, click on no and keep uninstalling all processors) on device manager like this:

  • Uninstall AMD Chipset Software in control panel (if there is none, skip it.)

  • reboot the PC to bios, disable AMD fTPM and secure boot (if enabled by default), save and exit, go to bios again, flash the bios to the latest, go to bios after finished updating, then load default or optimized settings, enable fastest xmp profile and PBO, then save and exit.

Optional: disable CSM, enable Above 4G Decoding and Resizable bar option (these 2 options wont be available unless CSM is disabled).

  • if successful, boot up to windows and install the latest Chipset driver (should be ver 5.02.xx as the time i write this), then reboot.

  • Install Install latest nvidia driver (and radeon driver latest 23.3.1 if you use the igpu), reboot, and then connect to internet. Dont forget to plug monitor to gpu.

*do this all offline until reboot after installing chipset driver, also you may reboot to bios after all of this to set the XMP (and previous settings you did). Download needed files (highlighted word) before doing step 1, do the step by orders.

  • Run cmd as admin, then do chkdsk /x /f /r, after that do sfc /scannow

  • And check windows update if there is any and install them (except optional update).

  • Make sure the psu connected to the gpu is 1 pcie cable per 1 slot (use main cable, not the branches/split) like this:

EDIT: It works, thanks a lot, my FPS is now stable without task manager on!
