Hello everyone, I’m having an issue with my cpu idling at 100C. It’s never done this before and I can’t seem to find out what’s causing it. I took my rig apart today to change some fans and add lighting to it and when I put it back together the cpu temp is reading 100C. I have a i7 6800K with a Corsair h100iv2 mounted to it. I only unplugged the fan cables to change my fans out and didn’t touch anything with the pump. I checked Corsair link which says that the pump is running so I don’t understand why the temps are hitting this high. It was working fine before I took it apart to change the fans and add the lights so I’m guessing I screwed something up when putting it all back together. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Solution
Definitely worth checking alternate headers, but this is very strange.
Check the integrity of the wires - maybe you crimped one by mistake? Not sure if they can come loose on the pump side of things, but check that too.
Are the fans themselves running too? The pump is one thing, and I'd expect you'd be shutting down due to thermals vs throttling if the pump wasn't connected at all.

Check the BIOS - I've seen a couple of ASUS (and probably others) boards who don't have the Pump to 100% by default.

Which software are you using to check temps?
Is the radiator warm or hot to the touch?
Are the fans installed properly blowing air into the radiator fins?

Pump at 0 rpm... RIP

You've connected it to the pump header 100% sure? Would be odd for it to fail at the same time you're changing stuff out.
Not impossible, but definitely strange/unlikely.

MOBO is MSI x99 Gaming Pro Carbon btw

I have the USB power connected to JUSB1 JUSB4

Exhaust fan I replaced is connected to SYSFAN1

CPU pump pin connecter is on CPUFAN1. Also tried the pump cable on the PUMPFAN pins. I know it doesn't matter because it worked before but its a 3 pin cable going on a 4-pin slot.

Fans are connected and run fine, getting faster as temps rise.

It is definitely odd that it would just fail when I was replacing things, I feel like I have something messed up but it doesn't look like it.

Try testing CPUFAN1 and PUMPFAN headers to make sure they are working.
Make sure the PSU 24-pin and 8-pin connectors are seated properly.
Inspect the pump wire in case is broken. Also check the 3-pin connector in case a pin is not making contact with the header on the motherboard.
