Dear community,

The problem is as follows: During the last shutdown, Windows seemed to shut down correctly, but the PC did not because all the LEDs were still lit and the fans were spinning. Until then, the computer was running normally. Now, on startup, I can't even get into the BIOS and the CPU and RAM LEDs are lit.

I had a similar issue where CPU and RAM LEDs lit, here a short summary:
I wanted to activate EXPO, which worked, but the PC then took a good 5 minutes to boot up and both LEDs were lit. When I then manually set the RAM to 5200MHz (the maximum should be 6000MHz according to the manual) everything ran normally again.

What I have already tried:
- CMOS reset
- only one or two RAM bars
- BIOS flash
- looking for bent pins

My system:
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
4x 16GB G.Skill Flare EXPO X5 DDR5-6000 DIMM CL32-38-38-96
MSI Tomahawk WIFI AMD B650 So.AM5 DDR5 ATX Retail

As mentioned, I cant do a safe mode boot cause I dont even get into the BIOS, the screen stays black.
I did the CMOS reset like in the manual, but nothing changed (hold screwdriver to JBAT1).

My PSU (new, 1 moth old): 1000 Watt be quiet! Pure Power 12 M Modular 80+ Gold

PSU: when the new PSU was installed did you use only the cables that came with that PSU?

= = = =

This motherboard?

https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/MAGB650TOMAHAWKWIFI.pdf

{Verify that I found the applicable User Guide.]

Check the Safe Boot Jumper per numbered Page 40.

Clear CMOS using a jumper cap per numbered Page 43. Not a screwdriver.

Failing that, refer to the User Guide to doublecheck that all connectors, cards, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

Keep in mind that the last shutdown (forced or otherwise) may have corrupted some Windows files.

Yeah, I only used the cables that came with the PSU.
You sent the right manual.
Unfortunately, I dont have a jumper

Transfering a boot SSD to another motherboard may:

1) not work
2) work with ongoing problems
3) least likely - work without problems

Not recommended.

First ask around: family, friends, co-workers to see if someone has a jumper.

Especially before going to all the work and effort of a new motherboard.

If you get a new motherboard then use another SSD (256 GB or more) and do a clean Windows install using only that SSD.

Be sure to remove the current boot SSD with its' files which are hopefully intact.

Check the Windows 11 Forum for the recommended clean Windows install procedure.

Once the new Windows install is up and running you can later connect the original/old SSD as a secondary drive and hopefully recover the desired files.

I found another Mobo to test the hardware
Now, I still get no picture but only the DRAM LED lights up
I tested all 4 RAM bars, but this doesnt change anything
So I assume it is the CPU, right?
