Question Cpu recommendation

I have pentium G5400 paired with gtx 1650 4gb ddr6 do you think it is worth to upgrade to an i3 8100 or should i keep my g5400 and wait for best cpu.... thanks im new bee so pls help me to decide what's best for my pc

What Mobo are you using? And what's your budget? Also be aware next gen is not gonna be inexpensive. What's the use for this PC?

I'm using Gigabyte h310m h 2.0
Pentium G5400
Msi gtx 1650 ddr6 4gb
16gb 3200mhz but i can't overclock my ram so its only read about 2400 mhz
650 w corsair 80+

I want to get a more playable Fps, average gaming

Do you think sir that would be a good idea if i upgrade my cpu to 4 cores 4 theards or should i keep my g5400 because i get 82 max fps in forza horizon 5 with the 1080p high/mid settings

I won't suggest you to get a 4C/4T CPU go with the i5 9400F atleast with 6C/6T. It'll have more life compared to a 4C/4T.
Also remember a CPU with F in the end has no iGPU.
What's your budget? It would be better to go with 6C/12T but if not yes-6C/6T
