Current Specs:

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 5.0)
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti VENTUS GP (New to me)
CPU: amd fx-6300
RAM: kingston 3 x 8gb
PSU: Corair RM750e (New)
OS: Windows 11
Location : Australia

I am ready to upgrade my CPU, RAM and MOBO after upgrading my GPU and PSU not that long ago as i now have the funds.
I will be using this pc for gaming and just general internet browser multi tasking (mainly concerned about gaming performance.)
I will be upgrading my monitors to 1440p and high refresh rate, so keep that in mind please.

For the CPU im looking at the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D ($588), im unsure if this is the best option. From what i have read though this seems to be a good price and performance.
The RAM im unsure what would be suitable and what would be overkill so i would love some recommendations or guidelines when choosing them.
The MOBO im unsure, i don't think that im in need of anything fancy but there could be something that i may need but am unaware of.

Any help or recommendations as to how best to should proceed would be very appreciated (y)

Also if you could keep my location in mind when recommending me anything that would be very helpful as well, thanks.

Solution
Ok, im understanding what you are telling me and i agree.
The 5xxx CPU seems like a smarter use of my money for the time being, if i was going to get say the 5800x3d compared to the 5700x am i looking at a worthy jump in performance for the price difference? or is it also not worth it?
When it comes to ram what speed/gb would you recommend for that type of setup with a 5xxx cpu? I do like to have alot of browser tabs and videos open when playing games if that helps with the decision. Also if i went with this setup what would you recommend when it comes to resolution's / monitor setups? should i just keep my current dual 1080p monitors or could i upgrade?

The 5800x3d is the best CPU for gaming on the AM4 platform.

A...
That cpu is overkill but if you plan to maybe upgrade the gpu in the future then I guess it is good. It also depends on the application you are using. Most times people use the x3d version of chips because they play games. Games are mostly GPU limited.

Memory on AMD still tends to be tricky to get really high speed to run. DDR5-6000 tends to be a very common memory used that works well on most machines.

Motherboard mostly depends on what features you need. Things like the physical size, number of m.2 slots, number of port on the back, and if you like fancy led or other cosmetic features.

Once you pick your motherboard check the memory compatibility list and buy something from that list.

"Monitors" is in more than one?

I wouldn't pair a 7800x3d with a 2080ti.

What's your budget? Where are you buying from?
My budget for the cpu would be max $700, however i would like to be under that.
I want at a minimum 2 monitors although i was thinking of going to 3, i am wondering if i would run into trouble if i ran screen at multiple resouloutions? Like 2x1440p and 1 x 1080p I have yet to but the 1440p monitors so i dont have specifics yet.
Im just looking for the parts on pcpartpicker under Australia
the cheapest stores selling the 7800x3d are (jw.com.au & centercom.com.au)

I dont really care what the mobo looks like at all, i would like maybe one m.2 slot for future use. As for the cpu, i do plan on mostly gaming so thats why i chose the x3d cpu, however if im not going to receive any performance upgrades over a cheaper one then i would consider it. I do like the idea of the machine being future proofed to a extent, as im replacing the mobo as well as the cpu. so if i wanted to upgrade in the future swapping only the gpu does appeal to me.

Is your budget $700 for just the CPU or the entire build? You will need new motherboard and RAM for the new CPU. You also should have a SSD.

FYI: I would not run multiple 1440p monitors from a 2080ti and expect decent framerates.

that would be for the cpu($700), im not looking for anything fancy with the motherboard just 1 m.2 slot for future use. As for the budget for the mobo and ram, i would like to be around $300-400 although im not looking to just throw away money on parts that aren't serving the build in some way.
I have a ssd and hdd in my build now and will probably more in the future just not right now.
As for the monitor setup what would you recommend? I was looking at bottleneck calculators (unsure how accurate those things are) and was seeing that 1440p seemed to strike the best ratio of performance/usage of parts. If there is a better setup for the monitors i would like to hear it, could i run 1 x 1440p 2x 1080p?

In general you can buy any motherboard that fits in your case and also has support for the 7800x3d. All AM5 motherboards are rather expensive.

I would of course not buy unknown brands from direct ship locations in china. Since you can't really overclock a 7800x3d any board that is designed for it will work fine. Some of the most expensive boards are the ones designed for people that are overclocking.

I would do the simple use partpicker and put in the 7800x3d and get a list of motherboards that it will work on. Unless you have a very special need it is all going to be a price and personal preference thing. The cpu chip itself has been out long enough that motherboards have worked out any bugs.
Again you are going to be gpu bound espeically at 1440 in most games. If we ignore that your video card is the bottleneck I would still say the 7800x3d is the best gaming machine you can buy today. It just depends when you get enough money for a 4090 to match its performance :)

Thanks for that, i guess the cpu seems for achievable at $588 compared to the $3500 for the 4090 haha also the way i look at it is that the mobo and ram need upgrading so i might as well for the future. I picked up the 2080 ti used for $420, could i have done better if i went for a new card or would i have been paying alot more for better preformance?

Yeah, you're looking at about $550 for motherboard and RAM for that CPU. At least the bare minimum I would run for such a nice processor. That brings your total to over $1200 with a 7800x3d and capable CPU cooler.

Whereas you could build a 5xxx system for half the cost. That would be a 5700x, RAM and motherboard. This system would be magnitudes better than your current system. Though, you would only have one available upgrade for this platform, the 5800x3d.

The 5800x3d is the best CPU for gaming on the AM4 platform.

A 5800x3d, 16-32gb 3600mhz cl16 or better RAM and you 2080ti would be nice with a 1440p monitor.

Though, you must be truthful with yourself that you'll be happy with buying an end-of-life system just to balance use of that almost 6 year old GPU that will struggle on current AAA games at high/ultra even with RT(if important to you) enabled. Last thing you want is to drop coin and have buyers remorse.

These are all things that i will need to think on and consider, i thank you for making these decisions easy on me.

Would i have been able to buy a better preforming card for $500-800 new or would i need to spend more for better performance than the 2080 ti?
