CPU upgrade help needed

Hey guys, my setup now is X4 880k processor, and GTX 1060 6gb graphics. Wondering what the best option for a CPU upgrade is, and where I can find it for the cheapest price. Thanks. Not looking for anything too expensive. £100-£200 ish. Thanks.

Your current processor is socket FM2+ and is nearly the best performing one for that socket available so you really don't have an upgrade path unless your motherboard supports AM3 socket as well.

Yes I am flexible to upgrading mobo so and CPU in the price range will do. My mobo currently is on FM2+ socket type

Maybe time to take the plunge on some new kit. I recommend an Intel cpu and motherboard. If you go with an older generation, you can probably reuse your memory.

Some FM2+ motherboards also support the AM3 socket, so you could save some money by only upgrading the CPU. Tell us your motherboard model and we can tell you if this is a possibility.

For your budget, the fastest i3 you can afford. Sure they are only two cores, but they have hyperthreading and fast clocks. What memory are you currently running?
