This is probably a really stupid question for you pros here, but I am unsure.
I just purchased a new Intel CPU (P4 2.5ghz), a retail version that includes heatsink and fan. Unfortunately, it did not come with any thermal paste.
The instructions that came with it consist of 8 pictures. And none of those pictures shows anything that look like a tube of thermal paste.
So, is it a bad idea to install it without the paste, even if it is in accordance with the directions?
